The Bayly School of Reflexology

What will it involve?
Sessions last a period of approximately hour, including 'settling-in' time. Reflexology will be briefly explained, and a medical history will be taken. Then it is time to relax!
The treatment itself takes approximately 20 minutes on each foot. The right foot treats the right side of the body, and the left foot treats the left side of the body. The whole body is always treated, and is followed by a precise treatment to the reflexes that relate to your ailment(s) or condition. If you come with more than one condition or problem, these areas will all be specifically treated.
If you wish to come purely for re-energising, or to help promote well-being, the whole body is still treated in the same way, but emphasis will be on reflexes relating to relaxation and stress reduction as well as enhancing the immune system and rebalancing energy flow.
Pressure is applied in a gentle technique using the thumb, allowing energy to flow through the body, subsequently freeing any blockages that may have occured. It does not hurt and it does not tickle!
If people have reflexology purely to re-energise, fewer than three treatments may be sufficient. However, if treatment is for a particular condition or ailment, the minimum recommended number of treatments is three, with an average of six sessions being required. These would normally be at weekly intervals in order to gain maximum effect. More treatments, or perhaps fewer treatments, may be needed, according to the nature of the condition and the person's individual response to the treatment. Some people also find that once they have had a course of treatment, a 'top-up' session every so often helps keep things at bay further down the line. The effect, however, is often long-lasting, and people usually continue to feel the benefits long after they stop treatment.
